New Work

I am currently working on a number of projects – a wildflower calendar, tawny frogmouth drawings/print designs, illustrations, alphabets…and some catch up hand colouring and an idea for a new wildflower large print….Sometimes too many ideas and not enough time!

…..I’ll keep you posted as these develop…..

designart10designs These are nine designs with the 4 bottom designs are new for February 2009 and are part of the Design Art Series.

    Hi Lynette
I found your web-site really interesting and helpful. I love your little squares of flowers!!
I was illustrating for years, had kids, out of the loop and am now thinking of trying to do lino cuts. Much better than selling one off paintings.
    Thank you Wendy

    Hi Wendy,
I’m glad you enjoyed the website!
I am working on an idea for a children’s book but have got stuck at the final spread of drawings but hopefully it will come together. Your illustrations look lovely on your website.
Linocuts are good in that you can get multiple images but the process from design to actual print can take a while depending on the size etc. A watercolour can take an hour or two but even a very small linoprint can take a week or two (or longer) from start to finish (that doesn’t include the hand colouring). But I do enjoy the process although carving takes its toll on the shoulder/neck muscles!
I am in the process of refreshing/learning a range of skills and seeing what happens – sounds a bit like where you’re at!
    regards
    Lyn
